Engineered Floating Floors.

The floating floor method means the products are not usually fixed to the sub-floor. Sections of flooring are usually laid over a soft underlay. These systems are often pre-finished and may be ‘clipped’ or glued together.

This method is used on Laminate and Engineered flooring. Black plastic is laid first on the bare concrete slab to help prevent moisture from penetrating the flooring. Following this comes the underlay which comes in various types depending on your budget. Once this has been laid, the timber Laminate or Engineered boards follow.

A skirting board or perimeter beading is usually required to hide the expansion gap.
